Advanced Beginner classes are offered on Wednesday evenings, from 6:00-8:00 pm.
The Advanced Beginner’s class is aimed at people who have had one to two years of exposure to French and who are able to introduce themselves, talk about their family, discuss their tastes, ask basic questions, and talk about their routine and leisure.
At the end of Advanced Beginner French, students should be able to understand isolated phrases and common expressions that relate to areas of high personal relevance (like personal or family information, shopping, immediate environment, work); talk about past events; understand and explain tastes in food; give positive and negative appreciations; describe objects and indicate their functions; describe accommodations; and talk about their relationships.
In order to complete the Advanced Beginner’s level, we recommend that students follow up with the Advanced Beginner’s course Part 2 in the Winter and Part 3 in the Spring.
