Beginner classes are offered on Monday evenings, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Fall 2017 classes are September 11 to November 13.
At the end of the Spring session of Beginner French, students should be able to recognize and use familiar words and simple phrases for concrete purposes; introduce themselves and others; ask and answer basic questions about home, family, work, surroundings, etc.; communicate in a basic way when another person speaks slowly and clearly; and repeat or reformulate to aid in communication.
Beginner classes correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) level A1. Not sure if you are a Beginner? Take a placement test here.
The text required for the class is Alter Ego Level One Textbook with CD (French Edition) by Annie Berthet. Students may also want to purchase Alter Ego Level 1 Exercise Book (French Edition). Supplementary materials supplied by the instructor may be used in class.
