Frances Maxwell, from Brewton, Alabama, first moved to Nashville in 1979. She later spent six years in Morocco, and she joined AFN when she returned in 2014. Not wanting to lose any of the French she had picked up, she started attending the soirées, the Cercle de Conversation, and the annual Immersion Day, which she finds delightful and inspiring.

Frances has close friends in France and even speaks passable Moroccan Arabic. She enjoys travel, good food and wine, and evenings with friends, and she was a riding instructor for many years. Now, she tends the garden when she is not volunteering for AFN.
